Student Volunteer Overview

The College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland is seeking Master’s and Ph.D. students to serve as student volunteers (SVs) at iConference 2019, which takes place March 31 – April 3. Student volunteers are essential to the success of the iConference and information schools as a whole. Volunteer tasks are assigned in advance and may include, but are not limited to, helping at the registration desk, the poster session, paper sessions, panels, and more. We expect your punctuality, responsibility, and dedication to the tasks we assign. Student volunteers must attend a mandatory orientation session the evening before the conference (Saturday, March 30) to discuss guidelines in the SV handbook. If you cannot attend the mandatory training session, please do not apply.

Benefits: In exchange for their 20 hours of volunteer work, student volunteers will receive a complimentary registration to iConference 2019, an exclusive iConference 2019 SV t-shirt, and free lunches.

Limitations: Travel and lodging costs will not be provided; all student volunteers must pay for their own travel and accommodation.

Questions can be addressed to the student volunteer chairs listed below.
