Assistant Professor - Digital Curation

SILS is the only university in the United States to have a master’s degree in Digital Curation. As such we seek an engaged and energetic colleague with a focus on the theory, development, and practice of broadly conceived notions of digital curation as well as expertise in curriculum development and teaching of digital/data curation. Successful applicants will explore digital content in any area, including but not limited to:

  • Government data

  • Scientific data

  • Community data

  • Cultural heritage data

  • Humanities data

  • Health data, or

  • Personal data

They may also have a wide range of thematic emphases, including but not limited to:

  • Civil society and democracy

  • Activism and social justice

  • Data governance

  • Public engagement (e.g., citizen science, public history, community archives)

  • Disparities and inequality

  • Sociotechnical challenges

  • Materiality and temporality
