IU role in Human Microbiome Project exposes battle history between bacteria, viruses in human body

 

An Indiana University team of researchers has conducted the most in-depth and diverse genetic analysis of the defense systems that trillions of micro-organisms in the human body use to fend off viruses. The work is among a collection of 16 research papers released today by the Human Microbiome Project Consortium, a National Institutes of Health-led effort to map the normal microbial make-up of healthy humans. iConference 2013 is an excellent venue to share your work and collaborate with others who share your passion and research interests. In response to requests for more varied opportunities to participate, we are offering several new participation opportunities this year. Specifically, in addition to the usual Papers of 8-10 pages, we are also seeking Notes of up to 4 pages that reflect early and partial results. Also, our new Research Paper Development Roundtable provides increased opportunities for junior faculty. Read more
