The School of Information Studies (SOIS) at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee offers a Bachelor of Science in Information Science & Technology, Bachelor of Science in Data Analytics, Master of Science in Information Science & Technology, an ALA accredited Master of Library and Information Science and Ph.D. in Information Studies.

Our mission is to educate the next generation of information and technology professionals by offering a rigorous curriculum that fosters professional knowledge, skills, and ethics, critical inquiry, and leadership to address the needs of a diverse and global information society. Our graduates are prepared for not only the current information and technology services landscape but also future-ready careers, and new environments.

Being innovative is at the core of our identity at SOIS – our curriculum and course delivery have evolved not as a reaction to external forces or market demand, but rather from looking at our ever-evolving society and world. As part of one of the nation’s R1 research universities, our diverse faculty’s renowned teaching and research records contribute to the advancement of knowledge and the profession.
