About

UBC School of Information is an internationally ranked, multi-disciplinary school, offering multiple graduate programs: Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS), Master of Archival Studies (MAS), Dual MLIS/MAS, an interdisciplinary Master of Children’s Literature (MACL), and a PhD. An undergraduate Minor in Informatics was introduced in 2021. The MLIS is ALA-accredited, and our alumni work at organizations across the globe.
UBC iSchool offers a research-intensive study environment, with international partnerships and competitive funding, at one of the best public universities in the world. While situated at a large university, UBC iSchool offers students ready access to their professors, and a large variety of work-based learning opportunities at local, national and international organizations.
Located on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) people, we are a community of faculty, practitioners, students, research and support staff, all working together to advance the study and practice of information.
