The UC3M Department of Library Science and Documentation is a benchmark for the search, formulation and dissemination of responses to the demands posed by society in terms of information management, through its teaching, research and outreach activities. It frequently occupies positions in international rankings such as the QS or the Shanghai ranking. In 2015, it obtained international accreditation as a member of the iSchool consortium, an active network that leads and promotes the field of Information and Documentation at a global level. It has three affiliated research groups: ACRÓPOLIS, LEMI and TECNODOC.
