Prospective leaders in library and information science are invited to join the Association for Library and Information Science Education (ALISE) for the 2nd annual Leadership Academy, January 30-31, 2020 in Palm Desert, California. According to organizers, the Academy is intended for all prospective leaders in library and information science - the confident, the hesitant, and the curious. The event will feature content relevant to first-time attendees and to those who participated in 2019.
The theme for this year’s Leadership Academy is “Vision 2020: Leading in a Constantly Changing World.” Based on feedback from iSchool/LIS program leaders and past participants, this Leadership Academy will focus on helping participants develop a vision for what they plan to accomplish in 2020 and in the future. The Academy will also cover topics relating to successful leadership: team building, peer leadership, dealing with conflict, and setting priorities.
Academy organizers and speakers include: Dr. Sandy Hirsh, San Jose State University; Dr. Stephen Bajjaly, Wayne State University; Dr. Lisa O'Connor, University of North Carolina at Greensboro; and Dr. Michele Villagran, San Jose State University.
