For the Data Science opening, Drexel seeks a leader and innovator for data science education who will help to bridge the College’s data science curricula to industry demands and promote data science to a wide audience. For the Cybersecurity opening, candidates should have background in or knowledge of cybersecurity, cloud security, computer forensics, ethical hacking, or applied cryptography. Candidates with relevant industry experience in security or cybersecurity technology are highly desirable.

University of Michigan School of Information Deadline: June 15, 2019
The Living Research Synthesis Infrastructure (LRSI) project at the University of Michigan Schools of Education and Information is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to join the project. The postdoc will be an equal member of the research team, expected to assume the lead role in the design and development of components of the LRSI prototype. Applicants should have a PhD in Information Science, Science and Technology Studies, or a related field. The University of California, Berkeley, invites nominations, inquiries and applications for the inaugural position of Associate Provost of the Division of Data Science and Information and Dean of the School of Information.
Data science is rapidly transforming society and the academy. In response, Berkeley has established programs in data science that span the campus, and is now looking for an Associate Provost to lead these efforts and to ensure that Berkeley’s engagement with data science reflects our values of excellence and inclusion and enhances our mission of serving the public through the creation and sharing of knowledge. As an institutional vehicle for moving forward in data science, Berkeley has created a new division, provisionally entitled the Division of Data Science and Information, which will be built on the disciplines of computation and statistics, their application across fields, and the exploration of their human, social, political, artistic, and scientific implications.
The Associate Provost will serve as the leader of this new division, and as Dean of the School of Information. Among the roles envisioned for this new position are fostering data science across the campus broadly and supporting interdisciplinary synergies within this new division. There is both a pedagogical mission and a research imperative to data science.

The Drexel iSchool invites applications for multiple teaching & tenure-track and tenured faculty positions in Information Science at all levels. Preference will be given to applicants in the areas of Human-Centered Computing (tenure track), Digital Content Management (tenure track), Data Science (teaching faculty), and Cybersecurity (teaching faculty). Candidates for tenure-track positions should have a Ph.D. in Information Science or related field at the time of appointment and a record of high-quality scholarly activities. Applicants for senior hires are expected to have demonstrated exceptional leadership in large-scale, multidisciplinary research programs. Applicants for teaching positions do not require a PhD.

Syracuse University School of Information Deadline: Open until filled
The iSchool at Syracuse University is a founding-member of the iSchools Organization and is a premier institution for innovative programs in information management, behavior, organization, policy, systems, technology and services. Consistently ranked among the top five programs of its kind in the country by U.S. News and World Report, the Syracuse iSchool offers degree programs at the undergraduate, masters and doctoral levels; master’s programs are available both on campus and online.
Reporting to the Provost, the Dean will collaborate with the 12 deans of the other schools and colleges and with senior leadership of the University. The Dean will oversee 50 tenure-track faculty members, professors of practice and teaching faculty, and a staff of 50 and will be responsible for an operating budget of $62 million.
The next Dean will lead the Syracuse iSchool at a time when its disciplines are in increasingly high demand by undergraduate, professional and graduate students. The Dean will have the opportunity to capitalize on this exciting information age by focusing on fostering academic excellence, advancing the research agenda, building institutional capacity, and raising visibility and resources. The Dean will be a leader in the field of information with the academic and/or professional experience needed to lead one of the top schools in its field during a time of rapid progress in the iSchool’s disciplinary areas of expertise.
