Silvia Maccarini

Abstract:

A brief overview of how the scholarly publishing sector has changed with the advent of digital. During these changes, something anomalous has been born over the years, unclear and incomprehensible behind the academic research and knowledge production. There was talk of the phenomenon of the "predatory journals" or "predatory publication" in 2010. Who are they? What is their thinking, their goal, and how do they act? Who are the protagonists and their business model (that is not always related to Open access) Who is affected? What kind of strategies have to be adopted to recognize and protect ourselves from Predatory journal?
