Drexel iSchool Associate Professor Gerry Stahl Publishes Third Book on Virtual Math Teams Project

 

iSchool Associate Professor Gerry Stahl has published a new book, entitled Translating Euclid: Designing a Human-Centered Mathematics, which reports on the latest theoretical, methodological, pedagogical and philosophical developments in the Virtual Math Teams Project, a research collaboration between The iSchool, College of Information Science and Technology and the Math Forum since 2002, funded by seven major federal grants. Two more players in the world of Big Data have joined Drexel University’s National Academy of Science Center for Visual and Decision Informatics. IMS Health, a leading global provider of information, technology and services dedicated to making healthcare perform better; and Microsoft Research, one of the largest software research organizations in the world, will both be part of the growing CVDI partnership. iSchool Assistant Professor Michelle Rogers, PhD Receives $100,000 Grant from Robert Wood Johnson Foundation

 

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), the nation’s leading philanthropy on health and health care, has awarded The iSchool, College of Information Science and Technology at Drexel University’s Michelle Rogers, PhD a 12-month grant through the New Connections program.  Rogers is among a select group of Midcareer Consultants to receive one of the 12-month grants from New Connections. iSchool Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Named New Dean of Simmons College Graduate School of Library and Information Science

 

Simmons College has named Eileen G. Abels, Ph.D., currently Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor at The iSchool, College of Information Science and Technology at Drexel University, as the new dean of the Graduate School of Library and Information Science (GSLIS). Her appointment begins July 1, 2013.  Read more
